The importance of geography in military affairs cannot be overemphasized, after all, the cliff of a man is inherently much better defensive than the plains of a horse and a flat river, and many countries such as Viet Nam, Japan, etc., have survived to the present, largely because of the advantages of their geographical conditions.

So, looking at the global perspective, which countries are the most difficult to invade or to be occupied for a long period?

Since we are looking at the issue from a geographical perspective, we cannot simply “rely on power”. Otherwise, China, the United States, and Russia would be the most difficult countries to invade at present, and occupation is simply out of the question. Each has more nuclear bombs than the other, and their armies are all in the millions. It is not an exaggeration to say that if these three countries join hands, the other more than 200 countries and regions on Earth, no matter how strong they are, can be annihilated with a flick of a finger, without any pressure.
